Originally from China Springs, TX, Dr. Pass attended the University of Houston for both undergraduate studies and optometry school. In 1982, Dr. Pass accepted his first position as an optometrist and moved to Fort Stockton, TX to join Dr. Price in his private family practice. Shortly after joining the practice, Dr. Pass opened a small clinic in McCamey, TX and invested in a full-service optical lab. Dr. Price retired in the early 1990s and Dr. Pass continued serving the community Fort Stockton until his son Joshua Pass joined the practice in 2010. As an optometric glaucoma specialist, Dr. Pass evaluates, diagnoses, manages and treats a wide variety of conditions including glaucoma, diabetes, hypertension, dry eye, and many more. He performs follow up care for many surgical procedures and sees many ocular urgencies and emergencies. In addition to medical conditions, his expertise extends to general refractive care and specialty contact lenses.
Raised in Fort Stockton, Dr. Josh graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 2000. He then graduated in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and ultimately graduated as an optometric glaucoma specialist with a doctorate of optometry from the University of Houston in 2010. He returned to Fort Stockton, TX in 2010 to join his father Hulon Pass in private family practice at West Texas Eyecare. In 2012, West Texas Eyecare was expanded to Pecos, TX in an attempt to expand the service base for the surrounding communities and prepare eventually for an additional optometrist. Like his father, Dr. Josh evaluates, diagnoses, manages and treats a wide variety of conditions including glaucoma, diabetes, hypertension, dry eye, and many more. He performs follow up care for many surgical procedures and sees many ocular urgencies and emergencies. In addition to medical conditions, his expertise extends to general refractive care and specialty contact lenses.
Originally from Ft. Worth, Texas, Dr. Cherry joined West Texas Eyecare in 2016. After graduating from high school, he studied biology and chemistry at Texas Tech University, graduating in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Biology. He attended the University of Houston College of Optometry where he met Dr. Josh Pass and quickly became family friends. After graduating in 2012, he moved back to Ft. Worth where he practiced just over 4 years before moving back west. Dr. Cherry now practices in both the Pecos and Ft. Stockton offices and specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of many eye diseases and related issues including, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eyes, diabetic complications, among others. In addition, Dr. Cherry fits specialty contact lenses, performs follow up care for many surgical procedures, and sees many ocular urgencies and emergencies.
